The National Museum of Cambodia សារមន្ទីរជាតិ

The world's richest collection of Angkorian and pre-Angkorian art, two blocks from your hotel.

Especially now, as looted pieces of Khmer art are handed back to Cambodian by museums and private investors, it is essential to pay a visit to the National Museum, founded more than a century ago. And the library is a trove for researchers or just Khmer art lovers (on appointment).

Collections are remarkable, exhibitions are frequent, and it is pure pleasure to stroll through the vast, quiet halls. The gardens are also a destination by itself, with modern statues scattered under the canopy and among flowers.

And a cup or a drink the Museum Café, open to the trees, is a welcome respite from the city hassle.

Open 9 AM-6 M. Closes on Sunday.
